What is the TNR?
The Transfer Notification Register (TNR) provides information on licences which have been traded or are in the process of being traded. The publication of trading information will enable interested parties to find out about the number of transactions that have taken place and the spectrum that is being traded.
How do I search the TNR?
The TNR can be searched according to the date the proposed transaction was instigated or the trade took place, the buyers name, sellers name or type of licence.
What information about a trade is available?
The TNR details which licences are in the process of, or have been, traded, and the type of trade (partial or full) involved. Contact details for the buyer and seller of each licence are also provided along with information on whether the trade in question has been completed or not.
What is spectrum trading?
Spectrum trading allows the holders of certain wireless telegraphy licences, granted by Ofcom under section 8 of the Wireless Telegraphy Act 2006, to transfer all or part of their rights and obligations under their licences to another party.
Trading is entirely voluntary. Ofcom is not concerned with the underlying contractual arrangements which relate to the transfer of rights. Companies are therefore free to structure these arrangements as they wish.
