Commercial references in television programming

Ofcom commissioned 2CV to conduct research into viewers’ attitudes to commercial references in and around TV programmes and to explore the factors that influence when viewers may consider commercial references in programmes to be unduly prominent and/or promotional. The findings will help us consider whether our current guidance to the rules on commercial references on TV remains relevant and/or proportionate.
