This qualitative research gives a snapshot of the ways in which some platforms are seeking to mitigate the risks associated with user-to-user interactions on platforms.
One report focuses on how services are seeking to mitigate the risk of user generated content fraud, while the other report considers how services are approaching mitigating a wider range of illegal harms.
Ofcom has carried out this research to help build our evidence base as we prepare to implement the new online safety laws. The findings should not be considered a reflection of any final policy position that Ofcom may adopt when we take up our role as the online safety regulator.
