Useful links and other organisations

Published: 13 October 2022

Digital communications are changing fast, and keeping up with developments can be a challenge for small businesses.

Different businesses could benefit from different technologies, so you need to assess your own needs and how best to meet them. A range of organisations provide services and advice to help you do this, a lot of it free of charge. We list some of these useful sources below.

Don't forget that the Ofcom website has several resources for businesses, and some of our advice for consumers could also help you too.

  • Webwise is the BBC’s beginners guide to using computers, the internet and social media. It includes a step-by-step guide for those not familiar with the internet and offers online courses.
  • Doteveryone (formerly Go ON UK) is a website encouraging and helping small companies to get online and become more familiar with how to do business digitally.
  • Cyber Aware helps to get businesses that are less familiar with digital security up to speed.
