At its meeting on Monday October 26 the Radio Licensing Committee ("RLC") allowed a request from Original 106.5 (Bristol) to change the licensed Format of its station from that of an adult alternative, album-led station to become an adult-alternative station playing some adult-oriented album tracks with classic rock and predominantly non-contemporary pop/rock hits. In other words, the station is no longer required to be "album-led". News remains as a 24-hour service.
The Content Board had been asked for its observations, and the RLC took these into account in reaching its decision.
The request from Original represented a significant change to the character of the station service and, therefore, was the subject of a public consultation which ran from September 14 to October 9 2009.
