Ofcom has expanded the breadth of data we collect annually from TV and radio broadcasters’ workforces to help us promote equity, diversity and inclusion across the broadcasting industry.
This followed a five-year review of progress (PDF, 2.6 MB), which identified where we could help drive further improvements so that the sector truly reflects the diverse audiences it serves.
Our approach has a firm focus on driving equity and inclusion, helping broadcasters to embed diversity at all levels of their organisations. The links on this page detail the changes we have made to the way we gather diversity information from broadcasters, as well as refreshed industry guidance to reflect the latest best practice. It also includes a report on the diversity of eight TV and radio broadcasters’ workforces in 2021-22.
