These are audio links or amplified wireless microphones with a power greater than 10mW (50mW body-worn) but not exceeding 1W.

470-790 MHz In-Band

High-power wireless microphones can be assigned in the UHF TV Broadcasting Band, 470-790 MHz, where they will not cause interference to the reception of television services. However, in Channel 38 (606-614 MHz), only the spot frequencies 606.700MHz and 607.000MHz are permitted.

The primary duty of PMSE when assigning "In-band" frequencies is to ensure that any operations do not cause interference to TV reception. Frequencies will therefore only be assigned where there is no apparent risk of interference.

To check which frequencies are potentially available please contact us. We will need the address of the location concerned (preferably with full post-code or national grid reference) and the frequency ranges under consideration. Note that we cannot guarantee any particular frequency is available until confirmed by an assignment.

Some channels in the 470 - 790 MHz range are currently being reviewed for other uses. Please see the 'Digital Dividend' section below for up to date information.
