Ofcom has today published two determinations under sections 188 and 190 of the Communications Act 2003 (the “2003 Act”) to resolve two disputes. The disputes concern BT’s commercial charges for information used by (among others) providers of services known as ‘directory enquiries’. These services allow consumers who are looking, to find a specific telephone number of (say) an acquaintance or business. These services are accessed by consumers dialling telephone numbers beginning with 118.
