The Establish Working Group supports Ofcom’s work developing best practice principles for promoting media literacy through the design of online platforms.
We are working to establish what works well and what does not for media literacy interventions on platform in order to identify good media literacy design principles and inform our thinking about our future online safety duties.
Building a consensus around best-practice principles requires input from experts with varying perspectives.
The Establish Working Group aims are to:
- share and discuss existing platform practices to develop, design, test, and evaluate on-platform interventions to promote media literacy
- share and discuss ideas around best practice to develop, design, test, and evaluate these on-platform interventions
- share and discuss ideas around how best practice principles could be implemented so that they are used by online platforms
