The Metering and Billing Direction is a technical standard set by Ofcom under which communications providers are assessed by Approval Bodies to ensure that they bill consumers accurately. Larger providers of voice services are required to have their billing systems approved under the Direction; other providers may seek approval voluntarily.
British Approvals Board for Telecommunications (BABT) has notified Ofcom of its intention to grant Metering and Billing Approval to, TalkTalk Communications Limited operating a TMBS known as TalkTalk Technology – MET3004 having satisfied itself that its Total Metering & Billing System meets the requirements set out in the 2014 Metering and Billing Direction.
