The Metering and Billing Direction is a technical standard set by Ofcom under which communications providers are assessed by Approval Bodies to ensure that they bill consumers accurately. Larger providers of voice services are required to have their billing systems approved under the Direction; other providers may seek approval voluntarily.
BABT has notified Ofcom that it has granted Metering and Billing Approval to Telefonica UK Ltd (O2 Mobile Services) and BT Openreach Wholesale Services in respect of Total Metering and Billing Services having met the requirements set out in the 2014 Metering and Billing Direction.
